WSOP 2011
The 2011 WSOP comprised of 59 events. People from 98 different countries took part and over $127 million in prize money was paid out. 94.7% of the participants were male.
The biggest event was the Main Event (6865 entrants). Following that in size there were many $1k and $1.5K NLHE events which each received between 4576 and 1920 entrants.
The smallest events were Event 16 (2-7 Lowball) and the $10K Stud, each of which got 126 entrants. Closely behind that, the $25K NLHE and the $50K Players Championship each got 128 entrants.
The biggest paying events were the Main Event ($8,715,638 won by Pius Heinz), the $50K Players Championship ($1,720,328 won by Brian Rast), and the $10K 6-handed NLHE ($1,158,481 won by Joe Ebanks).
Big names winning bracelets included John Juanda (Event 16), Bertran "Elky" Grospellier (Event 21), and Jason Mercier (Event 35).
The series was perhaps most notable for 3 things. Phil Hellmuth finished 2nd place in an event three times. Ben Lamb dominated many of the events he played, and finished as Player of the Series. And thirdly it was the first time the main event was won by someone from Germany.
