Full Tilt recently introduced a new reward system called Black Card.  It is essentially orientated towards higher volume players, offering them a string of benefits for playing at Full Tilt.

To get Black Card access you need to earn an average of 500 player points (FTPs) over a 100 day period (ie 50,000 points over 100 days).  In cash games 10 points get awarded to the table per dollar rake (divided evenly amongst dealt in players).  In tournaments 10 points get awared per dollar buy-in fee.  So earning 500 points is pretty easy, especially for cash players.

The main benefits to Black Card status are a dedicated Black Card store, special tournaments, double the normal player points, and a dedicated support team (being allocated your own Full Tilt rep).  At the Black Card store, notably you can cash in player points directly for cash bonuses, as well as a wide range of electronics, and luxury goods.

Some of the cash bonus you can get using your player points are:

$5000 in cash for 1,100,000 points
$2000 in cash for 460,000 points
$1000 in cash for 240,000 points
$500 in cash for 125,000 points
$250 in cash for 65,000 points
$100 in cash for 28,500 points
$50 in cash for 15,000 points

If you are a regular player the points sure mount up very quickly so it’s nice just to be able to convert them to cash if you dont actually want to buy physical store items with them.

The Black Card status is fairly flexible once obtained.  Even if you drop below the 500 FTPs you will be given 50 days for you get the average back up.

If you are an even more high volume player and average 1500 FTPs a day you will get 3 times the points.  And if you are a real sicko and average 3000 FTPs a day, you will get 4 times the points.

If you are interested in taking advantage of these rewards and also Full Tilt rakeback then sign-up to Full Tilt and get a $600 bonus plus rakeback

This season’s FTOPS Main Event at Full Tilt was the first we have seen since the introduction of Multi-Entries to certain tournaments. This lead to a hugh field of 14,479 entrants (the biggest ever) with the $3 million guarantee being well and truely smashed. The prizepool came to $8,687,400 and the top prizes were huge:

1st: $1,326,044.74
2nd: $890,458.50
3rd: $629,836.40
4th: $451,744.80
5th: $321,433.80

1890 places won some money in total.

WSOP Bracelet winner Blair Hinkle had a great run and had a sizeable chip advantage with 3 players left.

The players negociated a chop which saw Hinkle secure over $1.1 million of the max possible ~$1.3 million. As it played out though, GIAMPP took the title, even though Hinkle was still the biggest money winner (despite finishing in 2nd place).

1. GIAMPP - $877,949.74*
2. blur5f6 - $1,162,949.74* (Blair Hinkle)
3. SirMad - $805,440.26*
4. Nayza - $451,744.80
5. WiLDmAn75 - $321,433.80
6. J NOCK - $230,216.10
7. 425wedabest - $165,060.60
8. beerocrat - $121,623.60
9. Colonel Mustard - $86,005.26

Up to 6 entries were allowed per person in the tournament, and many players took up that facility, including Hinkle who entered 6 times (and many other pros and higher rollers did likewise). None of his other entries cashed, but he sure made up for that with the entry that did. GIAMPP entered just once, proving that the principle of quality over quantity still applies and that there isnt really any huge advantage to playing multiples beyond just having the opportunity to play 6 very big tournaments rather than 1. SirMad entered 2 times out of the maximum of 6, just to complete the summary of the top players.

The chop by Blair was particularly good when you look at 3rd place. He secured around half a million dollars on top of the scheduled prize payout for the next to bust. Perhaps technically speaking it would be wiser for the 2 shorter stacks to play on or negociate harder. But that’s easy to say from a distance. Few can deny them the desire to lock up that extra 200K or so.

Next on the agenda for Full Tilt is to run the same 45 FTOPS Events, but at a 10th of the original buy-ins (the so called “MiniFTOPS”). If you fancy giving some of the events a try then sign-up to Full Tilt and receive a $600 bonus.

Full Tilt have introduced a new and innovative form of poker called Rush Poker.  Is is fast and furious and you can end up playing 400 or 500 hands an hour to compared to the normal 60 odd hands.

With Rush Poker the instant you make a decision to fold your 8 opponents are swept away and 8 new opponents appear and you have a new hand right there in front of you.  So you can literally click click click through hands until you find one you like.  It works a treat it really does.  A whooshing sound sweeps those players away the second you click “quick fold”.  You dont even have to wait until it’s your turn to act.

If you fancy giving Rush Poker a go you then sign up to Full Tilt here and get a bonus up to $600

To play just look at the left of the main Full Tilt lobby where you have the options of Ring Games, Sit-and-gos, Tournaments, or Rush Poker.  Select Rush Poker then simply select your prefered stakes, and buyin for your prefered amount.  And then you’re away.  It’s very easy.

Lots of Rush Poker stategies can be used.  Raising each time can be effective as many players have already left the table (their avatar is still there but they’ve long since clicked “quick fold” and moved on).  When you raise you often get a lot of instant folds and not much opposition.    Another strategy is to flick through loads of hands until you find something really big like pocket kings or aces, and then playing them really hard.

Each hand you are at a table with different players, therefore no-one really knows if you’ve been stealing the blinds a lot all the time.  Talking of blinds, the big blind just gets allocated to the player who’s gone the longest without paying it.  Therefore it evens out and you pay the big blind on average every 9 hands.

Rush Poker really is something new and refreshing, so why not give it a try now

The latest cash action on Full Tilt Poker has been crazy.  Huge games everywhere with durrrr and Isildur1 ploughing through tens of thousands of hands over the space of just a few days.

On Sunday they played around 7500 hands with hundreds of them reaching 100K or above.  A massive 21 hands topped $400K.

Dwan finished Sunday around $1.2 million down and came back on Monday looking to get some of it back.   Monday saw a mind boggling 12,000 hand session, with Dwan losing a further $600K.

Tuesday it continued with Dwan dropping a further $850K to Isidur1

On Wednesday Dwan was tied up with filming High Stakes Poker, much to his frustration no doubt.    While the cat’s away the dog must play.  Isildur1 went up against Antonius, Cole South and Brian Townsend.   He finished up around $400K from that 4-way encounter.

Then Dwan was back, keen as mustard to start getting un-stuck, and went on to lose yet again, this time around $700K

Overall after this somewhat crazy week Durrrr was about $3 million down.   That sure did screw his overall stats over for 2009.

All this action flying around reached fever pitch today with Isildur1 and Patrik Antonius competing for a pot of just under $900,000.  A world record online pot.  Antonius emerged the victor, liberating Isildur1 of around $450K

What craziness will follow over the coming days, god only knows.  But one thing’s for sure it’s going to be exciting to watch.

We were spot on with that news blogpost on 2nd Oct regarding Tom Dwan.   A month and a bit later it was announced to the world that he had indeed become a member of Team Full Tilt.   I guess we were way ahead of the game on that ;)

Dwan becomes the youngest member of Team Full Tilt, and the last member since Patrick Antonius to join.

Unlike standard red pros who get a base deal of 100% rakeback and $35 an hour, the actual “Team Full Tilt” members are cut in for a small percentage of the profits of the whole site.

So expect to see Dwan promoting the site heavily everywhere.  He’s likely to appear on commercials and various online marketing images.

He’s certainly a great signing for them, and will help increase appeal to a slightly younger audience.    He has a very big following through numerous very high profile live events, and his exceptional results and play at the highest levels both live and online.  The shear level of widespread exposure is surly excellent for the marketing of Full Tilt
